Oh the things that excite me- flour and oats bought in bulk! Who have I become? :)

Cornstarch + water = an hour of messy entertainment!

Preschool week 3

This week we learned about letter C, circles, counting, and another Bible verse.  We also went to the Reedy Creek Nature Center to see the animals, baked cookies, and went to a car show.  Her favorite book this week was Corduroy. We also got the movie about Corduroy from the library and it brought back such fond memories for me of being in charge of the projector in Kindergarten at Marshville Elem. and running the Corduroy slides. ;)

Something I don't want to forget :)

Azaylee asked me if she could have one of my measuring cups for the bath tonight.  I said of course and she proceeded to go upstairs with it and get in the bath.  Once she was in the bathtub I noticed she was measuring out different size containers and placing them on the side of the tub.

Me-  "Zay,  why are you measuring out all of the water into containers?"
Zay- "I am trying to see how much water needs to go to Goodwill and how much we should keep.  Here you go, you can take these dishes with water in them to Goodwill.  We don't need that much water anymore."

I have been cleaning out my dresser and closet this week so I guess she has been paying close attention to how this works.  I thought this was such a funny idea for a two year old.  Maybe I am making her a bit crazy with all the clutter purging I am doing all the time!

Preschool this week...

Here are some of the activities we did this week(below). We also read some fun books and  had a trip to Imaginon.  I am taking these pics so that I can remember what we have done and see Azaylee's progress without saving every piece of paper.  She loved making the "baby to big girl" book on the left.  She is always asking me what she was like as a baby so this was fun to show her pictures and tell her stories.  Also, she LOVES to do art and begs me for more projects to do. She enjoys the sign language and is always walking around doing an A or B with her hand and telling me to guess what letter it is :).  She has learned two Bible verses in the two weeks (and so have I!).  They are "A soft answer turns away wrath- Proverbs 15:1" and "Be kind to one another- Ephesians 4:32" I really didn't expect her to be this interested or do this well.  This was really just a way of doing something special that is one on one with her.  We will see what this looks like over the coming weeks.  It is right up my alley since I taught preschool before having kiddos.
